San Nicola Arcella is a small municipality in the province of Cosenza, Calabria. A very recognisable sight is the Devil’s Tower. It is locally known as Crawford's Tower, since the famous horror writer Francis Marion Crawford lived in and used it as a setting for his famous short story “For the Blood is the Life.”
