Mürefte is a fairly new harbour on the north coast of the Sea of Marmara. The harbour is a useful for refuge along the relatively poorly supplied north coast of the Sea of Marmara. In settled weather, a yacht is better off anchoring in the lee of the harbour just SW of the breakwater and, in unsettled weather, anchoring in the harbour itself away from the quays. Shelter in the harbour is good from the prevailing winds, but it is completely open to the SW. The harbour is around 2 kilometers East of the town of Mürefte (which is not really worth visiting anyway), but where provisions can be acquired.
