The Baltic Sea is a large Northern European inland sea and the largest brackish sea in the world. The Baltic Sea flows from the Danish islands into the Kattegat, through the straits of Øresund, the Great Belt, and the Little Belt. It includes the Gulf of Bothnia, the Bay of Bothnia, the Gulf of Finland, the Gulf of Riga, and the Bay of Gdańsk. It is connected to the following countries: Danmark, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia, Letland, and Finland. The Baltic Sea has a total area coverage of 413,000 km².
